SPEED SKIING is extreme support that is practiced in several different countries throughout the world. In recent years speed skiing has been gaining additional popularity. Additional races have been added in the past several years. In addition, speed skiing has seen a significant increase in competitors and attendance. Speed skiing is covered by FIS as well as other news networks and provides a major platform for companies and organizations to advertise their products.
Actual race costs for racers competing nationally and at the highest levels of FIS including the World Cup are often paid for or subsidized in cost. This comes from FIS and national governing ski bodies helping with overall costs and prize money. However, this is often not enough to cover all the expenses including travel costs and equipment costs associated with the sport to compete at the highest levels.
In order to effectively compete against the best speed skiers in the world, funding is extremely important.
